The Marketing Society Hong Kong celebrates five-year anniversary and honours members with Fellowship

HONG KONG – 23 May 2019 – Last night at Pong IFC, The Marketing Society, the leading global network of senior marketing leaders, celebrated its five-year anniversary with a cocktail party for members and industry leaders. Chairman of The Marketing Society, Darren Chuckry, awarded selected members with Fellowship – an accolade that recognises brave marketing leadership.

The Marketing Society is a global community of 3,000 of the world’s most influential senior marketers. The Society launched in London sixty years ago and has since expanded globally, including Hong Kong in 2014. There’s a wealth of talent in Hong Kong and the membership is made up of the bravest brands and people in marketing.

The Marketing Society’s purpose is to empower brave leaders and they have hosted forty events to date covering a range of topics that support this aim. Examples include: Hanson Robotics’ showcasing Sophia The Robot at a recent event around Social Artificial Intelligence and tackling taboos such as mental health and plastic in the ocean where Craig Leeson, Director, Plastic Ocean addressed leaders from brands with a call to action to make a difference. Other speakers include leaders from HSBC, Mercedez and Hong Kong Airlines.

At last night’s event, The Marketing Society celebrated its fifth anniversary by showcasing inspiring
campaigns from the last sixty years and announcing the Fellowships. The Society’s Chairman, Darren
Chuckry, presented fellowships of the Society to recognise the outstanding achievements of two of
the most influential members in the region.

Awarded fellows:

• Guy Parsonage
Guy Parsonage is Partner & Leader of the PwC Experience Centre where he is responsible for driving
digital transformation and innovation for global brands in and out of Greater China. With a
remarkable record in agency leadership, strategic marketing and iconic experience design, he is an
industry pioneer. Guy is a highly experienced marketer and passionate culture-builder, who brings
the best out of all of those around him.

• Hina Wainwright
Hina Wainwright is Marketing Director, APAC and Global Head of Marketing at Tag. Having originally
joined the company in 2013 as APAC Marketing Director on the Senior Leadership team, Hina was
promoted to Global Head of Marketing in recognition of her efforts and success in delivering
increased lead generation and brand awareness in 2016. Today, Hina is responsible for marketing
strategy and execution, focusing on driving excellence and consistency globally.

Hina is a founding member of the Marketing Society in Asia Pacific and sits on the Hong Kong board.
The World Marketing Congress listed her as one of the top 50 Most Influential Global Marketing
Leaders in 2015 and 2018.

Darren Chuckry, Chairman, The Marketing Society Hong Kong said: “It is an honour to be able to
award Fellowship to Hina and Guy, two members who have made an outstanding contribution to the
Society and the wider industry.”

Fellowship of The Marketing Society is the most senior level of membership and is only represented
