Hello Health Group Closes Seed Round of USD $1.5 Million
The leading healthcare information platforms builder in Asia has successfully raised USD $1.5 million led by CMG.ASIA
SINGAPORE, June 29, 2016 – Hello Health Group is one step closer to its mission of making the World’s healthcare information accessible and useful to everyone having secured USD $1.5 million in funding led by CMG.ASIA with participation from Thailand-based Charles Toomey – ex Global Head of Healthcare DKSH, and numerous other strategic angel investors.
With the closing of this financing round, Hello Health Group also welcomed Randy Dobson, Chairman of CMG.ASIA to its board. Dobson’s career in the health & fitness industry spans over 20 years, starting at the then largest privately owned fitness company in the world — 24 Hour Fitness — followed by establishing CMG.ASIA, one of the largest lifestyle companies in Vietnam that owns and operates 18 different brands in fitness, entertainment, media, and medical services.
“The impact that Hello Health Group can make on improving the quality of life for people living in this region is truly transformational, so to have the chance to lead the investment round for this incredible business was something I just couldn’t pass up,” said Randy Dobson.
“Every day we hear of amazing developments in technology and the continuous stream of ‘disruptive’ business models that are developing off the back of them. Healthcare is no different in that regard, and the manner in which patients and consumers gather information will increasingly impact their decisions, and lead to fundamental and irreversible changes in the way healthcare is accessed and delivered. Hello Health Group, with its vision and expertise coupled with the passion and entrepreneurial spirit of its leadership team, is perfectly positioned to play a pioneering leadership role in Southeast Asia. I am extremely excited about the journey we have embarked upon, and confident also that with our first mover advantage Hello Health Group will crack paradigms, and create value for all key stakeholders,” Charles stated.
Hello Health Group was founded in Singapore in 2015 and within one year has managed to build its team across Vietnam and Indonesia. Founders James Miles-Lambert and Mervyn Cheo are both known as successful entrepreneurs decided to start Hello Health Group to tackle the issue of poor online healthcare information that is of global scale and importance.
“Platforms like Google are absolutely fantastic in connecting consumers to the best possible information. The trouble in the context of healthcare in emerging markets is that often time the information is not complete or accurate,” Miles-Lambert commented.
Hello Health Group kickstarted its operation by launching HelloBacsi.com in October 2015 in Vietnam, followed by its Indonesian counterpart HelloSehat.com in April 2016. With this funding, Hello Health Group will soon be expanding across other key frontier regions as well as continuing to invest in developing its product to better serve all users.
