It’s simply the best way to introduce and fund a new consumer product to the mass market and by the mass market in this decade. It’s as close as a company or creator can possibly get to his customers and fans,
which is phenomenal direct communications from the beginning and takes away all entities in between, from investors to distributors and dealers.
How did you develop/manufacture the product?
Dr. Hesch, the founder, had designed protective footwear for over 6 years. We developed the Dyneema®-made FYF over 2 years with a German manufacturer and engineer, who has long term experience in protective clothing. The FYF is manufactured in the European Union, in Hungary.
Tell us about your Kickstarter campaign. Did anything surprise you? Any anecdotes to share in creating and running the Kickstarter campaign?
Be authentic, honest and in immediate touch with your backers. They are not only your customers, but also your fans and investors. Think and communicate your product to the biggest possible target group. Make sure it adds value to their life and offer a really great price for your backers.
How did you create the video for your Kickstarter campaign?
With German-American marketing & communications wizards manicx.com – we were in touch with many athletes around the world, choose one for each amazing sport we wanted to film, and filmed them. They had the KnowHow to communicate and think the message which makes everyone understand what we are trying to start, which turned into the #FreeYourFeet movement.
Can you share tips for those considering crowdfunding their project?
Find great people who know how to communicate your message and product, tell your story, show yourself. People love to fund people’s ideas, much more than corporations’ new products.
What’s next for Free Your Feet?
We are developing and prototyping dozens of new models and generations already, and love to push it further. We might launch, fund and introduce several new products through Kickstarter again.
