Dragon Law, Asia Pacific’s leading cloud-based legal software company, today announced their rebrand to Zegal, emphasising their global expansion strategy.
As the company expands beyond the Asia Pacific region into their first European country, the rebrand to Zegal combines the company’s success to date, with their vision of a world where the law works for everyone.
The company will continue to connect people with the legal and business solutions they need to thrive, while investing in new technology and launching in new markets.
The name Zegal comes from a combination of zero and legal. It was borne out of the notion that as a company, we have successfully taken Legal Tech from zero to one. Reflecting on the company’s evolution to a new brand, Zegal’s CEO, Daniel Walker, says:
“For me, Zegal represents the journey that we have made over four years. We focus on the small and medium-sized business segment (not a small one – a segment that makes up 85% of most national markets). The economics for legal practitioners in this space are broken, and this means that smaller businesses receive little to zero attention. Zegal’s vision is to make the law work for everyone. Our mission is simple. Connect businesses to their advisors with technology that makes them thrive.”
The company’s launch in the UK marks a major expansion into Europe. The company has opened an office in Manchester which will be headed by co-founder, Chris Sykes.
The initiative is an ambitious one, and it will help Zegal to offer it’s cloud legal software to a larger user-base of SMEs and grow its lawyer ecosystem to a new global audience. The expansion will also better assist their Asia Pacific user base looking to do business in the UK.
“Choosing to launch in the UK as our fifth international market marks a homecoming for me and my co-founder Chris Sykes. The UK market is an incredibly exciting environment for legaltech. Not only are businesses here highly receptive to cloud SaaS solutions, but legal professionals themselves are increasingly using technology solutions in their daily lives. This is a market that no legaltech company can ignore,” said Daniel.
Founded in 2013, Zegal’s vision is a world where the business of law works for everyone.
Companies that are connected to knowledge, their advisors, and use workflows to run their organisation are smarter and more profitable. Our mission is to make this the new normal for millions of businesses across the globe.
