Beautiful, intelligent and practical design to spark creativity and interaction
Spanning four floors and comprising of more than 1,000 desks, the WeWork Cityplaza Three space is curated to bring to life the company’s missions in creating a diverse community that connects like-minded creators. Being a key driving force in infusing design and innovation, WeWork has always been grounded by its core of being efficient and smart about designing the space while shaping transformations of the way we live, work and play.
Located in the heart of Tai Koo, an accessible commercial area in the Eastern District of Hong Kong, WeWork Cityplaza Three is flanked by a diverse mix of high-rise commercial and residential buildings, as well as retail and F&B outlets. The new location occupies the 19th to 22nd floors of a Grade A office building that offers stunning panoramic views over the Victoria Harbour and the greenery of Quarry Bay Park.
Tasked with an expansive harbour view and initially challenged by the irregular floor plan shape, the WeWork in-house design team created its spin by developing its main design concept to reflect the idea of “be like water,” the famous quote by Hong Kong’s martial arts master Bruce Lee. With water existing in any forms, this expresses the concept of flexibility and symbolizes the strength and adaptive character of the Hong Kong people. By bringing the concept to life through customized art pieces and installations throughout the space, this takes on a modern interpretation of traditional Hong Kong elements and scenes of what uniquely makes up Hongkongers that are expressed through authentic Hong Kong tiles, neon lights, trams that are affectionately called "Ding Ding" by locals, iced lemon tea, tons of stairsteps and Cantonese dim sums to name a few.
To inspire connection and cooperation, WeWork Cityplaza Three is filled with natural light and colourful design while embracing vibrant colours that infuse fun, happiness and joy into the collaborative space. First of its kind in WeWork locations in Hong Kong, the connecting staircase stands out in striking yellow, and red and blue that extends across the top two floors to encourage further interaction amongst the community. Another iconic feature is the game lounge, where members can relax and interact. The neon light backdrop behind the table tennis table also weaved in Chinese characters that imitate the sound of the fast speeds of a ping pong game, reflecting the community’s energy and passion.
In addition to the aesthetically designed communal space, WeWork Cityplaza Three offers functional private offices and conference rooms in different sizes, which caters to the needs of brainstorming, team training, networking and other occasions.
