Hong Kong Startup Council’s STARS Cohort 1 opens for application
Startups working on products or services making use of “Internet of Things” are invited to apply for the first cohort of the STARS Programme which is operated by the Hong Kong Startup Council under the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI). The theme of STARS Cohort 1 is on “Internet of Things”. Deadline of application is 27 January 2017. In 2016 the FHKI set up the Hong Kong Startup Council with the aim to give up-and-coming companies in Hong Kong assistance on aspects ranging from monetary support, prototyping, design, production, marketing, bookkeeping, logistics to patent registration.
The STARS Programme, operated by the Council, is a tailored mentorship programme under different themes. Each cohort will have a specific theme and last for six to nine months. Mentors from specific business fields will be paired with suitable startups to help iron out obstacles.
At the end of the programme, the Council will hold a demo day for startups of that cohort to make their pitch to the panel or potential investors, for a chance to gain up to HK$10 million funding opportunities.
The application for Cohort 1 “Internet of Things” is open until 27 January. To apply please visit: http://www.startup.org.hk/stars-programme
