Hong Kong, 28 January, 2019 - Hong Kong law firm JC Legal celebrated its first anniversary with business partners and clients last Friday (25 January 2019), thanking their trust and support over the past year. JC Legal specialises in corporate law, cross-border investment, commercial litigation and intellectual property, serving in eight jurisdictions around the world with a clientele ranging from listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to startups established within three years. For the coming year, the firm looks to grow its cross-border practice in Malaysia and develop legal technology to share legal intelligence with clients.

Go Global with Rooney Nimmo, D&S Law Firm and Boutique Malaysian Firm

JC Legal currently practises in Hong Kong, Malaysia, France and Australia, serving also in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany through its association with Rooney Nimmo since June last year. The firm further established an Association with D&S Law Firm in November last year, adding mainland Chinaas the eighth jurisdiction to its service landscape.

JC Legal Principal Janice Chew remarked, “Going forward, we will foster a closer strategic partnership with a boutique Malaysian law firm to facilitate corporations and entrepreneurs in doing business in both regions and connect them seamlessly with cross-border professional expertise.” Ezzwanee Ahmad, Trade Commissioner of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Hong Kong and Macau, appreciated the dedicated endeavours of JC Legal in bringing Malaysian businesses to Hong Kong and promoting bilateral trade.

New Legal Tech Platform Under Way

The legal industry is increasingly adopting technology to optimise their services. A report from data analytics firm Tracxn indicates that global investment in legal technology grew by almost 2.5 times from $203 million in 2017 to $493 million as of November 2018. In view of transformative changes in the legal industry, JC Legal announced plans at its anniversary to launch a legal technology platform to unlock an exclusive database of templates and legal intelligence.
