Keep your eyes peeled for the fair’s Fresh Selection, showcasing new local and international artists to the fair from a multitude of disciplines including; photography, painting, visual and street art.
#Forartsake Friday Charity Night will be the event to see and be seen. An evening of artist performances will help raise awareness of mental wellbeing and the power of art, whilst raising funds for Affordable Art Fair’s charities, Sovereign Art Foundation and Joyful (Mental Health) Foundation. Young Talent Hong Kong artist, Vanessa Wong will lend her paintbrush to create a limited edition ‘Playground’ tote bag, which will be on sale with all proceeds going to the charities. Don’t miss the party and performances from 6pm – 10pm Friday 18 May.
Family Fun can be found at the Creative Hub, which will provide an immersive area for visitors to explore and grow their creativity via an array of art activities. Featuring the 2018 edition of M+ Rover: Travelling Creative Studioby Ng Ka Chun (HK) and the colourful Children’s Art Studiosupported by Sovereign Art Foundation – all art education activities are complementary and children under 16 years old can enter the fair for free.
First Look At Young Talent can be found within the Young Talent Hong Kong exhibition, which provides a solid platform for young, emerging artists to showcase their work and further their career, through exposure to a diverse audience of galleries, art buyers and collectors. Curator Eric Leung (Art Consultant and Curator) and co-curator May Wong (Fair Manager, Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong), work together to select and mentor the best new grassroots artists from Hong Kong to exhibit new artworks reflecting on the specified theme –Mood.
